Ealing Crabs Water Polo team have recently recruited new players, some of whom are new to the game, and others slightly more ‘veteran’. This mix of skills has led to the less experienced members of the team showing dramatic improvements in their play. The past few weeks have witnessed some local ‘friendly games’, where we have given our junior players their first tastes of game play (in which they more than held their own). The team aims to promote water polo at all levels and are encouraged by the standard of our junior and female team members, although we are looking to attract enough players to help complete full teams for these members. The Men’s team have a busy season ahead of them, with the aim of competing in the London, Middlesex and National leagues. This is all in addition to the south-east area’s Referee’s Cup and a number of invitational tournaments (both domestically and an international tour to Croatia in the summer). The London League will be played at a particularly high level, including shared-venue tournaments at Gurnell on Sunday 12th July and 26th July 2009 where many local teams will compete. Check out the website www.ealingcrabs.co.uk for more information and come down and watch a good standard of ‘polo, learn some of the rules of the game and support your Club’s team!
